Rape suspect arrested in Paphos

A 24-year-old is under arrest after a woman filed a complaint to police in Paphos that she was raped by an unknown man, the Cyprus News Agency reported on Tuesday.

The victim is a foreign national, permanent resident of Paphos.

She told police that at around 4 am on Sunday, as she was walking home in Ayios Antonios area street she was approached by an unknown man who dragged her into the chapel’s yard and raped her.

She went to police later on Sunday morning and filed a complaint, giving a description of her attacker.

As part of their investigations, police checked CCTV in the area.
