Don’t look down: three of the world’s most dizzying hikes

Crumbling stone steps, narrowest ledges, terrifying drops on both sides… if there are wise men holding court at the tops of some mountains, it may take a certain kind of madness to reach them.

In this video, we consider three of the world’s most vertiginous, death-defying (literally) hikes, where helmets, cables and a flinty focus to keep the threat of falling to one’s demise at bay for hours, are mandatory. And of course, we survey the breathtaking panoramas that are the rewards for such courage and stamina.

If you dare, therefore, buckle your seatbelts to take a virtual trip to the pathways of:

  • Huashan (China)
  • El Caminito del Rey (Spain)
  • Angels Landing (US)
