Wild versus domestic rabbits – what are the differences?

Every pet deserves a loving and respectful home: please only consider acquiring a pet if you will be able to take care of its long-term needs. Also, consider choosing your animal companion from a shelter, where there are so many wonderful furry friends who need a forever home.

Domesticated rabbits have been carefully bred over many decades to ensure they have qualities that are suitable to the home environment. Consequently they are therefore not even the same species as outdoor rabbits, and couldn’t breed with them, had they the chance.

So, while we may assume that wild and domestic rabbits share the same characteristics, in fact, there are significant differences that divide them – a subject into which this video delves more deeply.
