Two sought for stealing furniture from rented home

Paphos police HQ

Police on Friday said they are looking for two persons suspected of stealing more than €3,000 worth of furniture from a Paphos-based maisonette they had rented.

The theft was reported to the police by a female permanent resident of Paphos who said she had rented a maisonette to a 56-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman between October 22, 2020 and July 6, 2021.

However, she claimed that the two had stolen furniture amounting to €3,198 and left the apartment.

The suspects appear to have sold the furniture to a second-hand furniture shop, before leaving Cyprus, police information suggests.

Police issued arrests warrants against the two, while they continue investigations into the case through witness statements.
