Two assault suspects remanded for three days

Famagusta District Court issued a three-day remand order against two suspects aged 48 and 39,  in a case involving grievous bodily harm to a man and a woman, aged 39 and 36, in Ayia Napa on July 30.

The couple reported to police that the 39-year-old had been beaten up by four people while they were on a property in Ayia Napa.

As a result the man suffered a fractured nose a broken tooth, a ruptured eardrum, and bruises on various parts of his body. The 36-year-old was also injured.

The two were taken to a private clinic, where the 39-year-old was kept for two days, while the 36-year-old was discharged after receiving first aid.

On Wednesday, three others, aged 44, 38 and 31, were arrested by Famagusta CID and were remanded for four days by Famagusta district court on Thursday. The 44-year-old was later released after investigations against him were completed.
