A 48-year-old man from Limassol was arrested on Friday in connection with online threats against paediatricians for supporting vaccinating children over 12.

Police said testimony was secured against the 48-year-old as part of their investigations into complaints by the Cyprus Paediatric Society into for threats posted on social media against members of its board of directors, after its announcement last week recommending the vaccination of children over 12 years old.

The defendant allegedly admitted to committing the offence, was charged in writing and will appear in court.
