Suspect sought for attempted burglary

Police on Thursday said they are looking for a 29-year-old man in connection with a burglary attempt at a café restaurant in the old town of Paphos.

The incident was reported to the police on Wednesday afternoon by a 39-year-old employee of the business, who said he discovered scratches on the side door of the restaurant.

Officers who arrived at the scene confirmed that the side door, which is made from aluminium, was scratched, showing signs of attempted break-in.

Following assessment of CCTV camera material and the emergence of additional evidence on the case, Paphos CID issued an arrest warrant against the 29-year-old man.

Police said they looked for the suspect but have not yet been able to track him down.
