Cyprus and Greece conduct joint search and rescue drill (with video)

Cyprus and Greece held a joint Search and Rescue drill on Friday, called Salamis 04/21 within the search and rescue area under Cyprus’ responsibility.

The Greek frigate ‘Salamis’, a helicopter from the National Guard and specialised personnel from the State Health Services Organisation’ Ambulance Service took part in the drill.

The joint Search-Rescue exercise was coordinated by the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) in Larnaca and the Hellenic Navy General Staff and is the fourth scheduled search and rescue activity that has taken place in 2021, a JRCC statement said.
