Woman arrested after fatal crash

A 38-year-old driver was arrested after she hit a motorcyclist, 28, who died as a result of the crash late on Sunday in Limassol.

The collision took place on Omonias avenue when the 38-year-old woman, who had parked her car outside a kiosk at the west side of the four-lane avenue, attempted to do a U turn, thus crossing three lanes.

In her attempt, she crashed into motorcyclist Savvas Gamvroudiou.

The man, who was not wearing a safety helmet, died as a result of the collision.

Police carried out an alcohol test and a narcotest on the woman with a negative indication.
