The health ministry on Thursday revised its Covid-19 death tally, adding to the count nine more people who had not been included at the time of death.

The addition of these nine deceased people took place after a data check, and it takes the toll to 544 until September 15 this year – a correction on the 535 reported on Wednesday.

As of Thursday’s coronavirus report, any new deaths from Covid-19 will be added to the 544.

The ministry listed the nine who had been previously left out of the death count and are now included: a woman aged 75, who died on December 12, 2020 ; a woman aged 88, died on August 3, 2021; a man aged 74, died on 8 August 2021; a woman aged 72, died on 11 August 2021; a man aged 74, died on August 12, 2021; a man aged 78, died on August 13, 2021; a man aged 65, died on August 19, 2021; a man aged 76, died on August 20, 2021; and a woman aged 76, died on August 23, 2021.

From the updated data, the average age of the deceased is 76.3 years. Of the 544 deceased, 348 are men.
