Coronavirus: 22 citizens, one store fined for violating decrees

A total of 22 citizens and a business were fined for violating Covid-19 protective measures in the last 24 hours.

The checks were carried out between 6am on Thursday and 6am on Friday.

A fruit and vegetable store in Limassol which served more than the allowed number of customers, was fined €500.

In addition, 22 individuals were also fined during the checks.

The main violation among individuals was the failure to wear a face mask, police said.

Eight people were fined in Limassol after 368 checks, two in Larnaca after 588 checks and four in Paphos after 148 checks. Eight more people were fined in Famagusta after 561 checks while no violations were reported in Nicosia and Morphou after 659 and 142 checks respectively.

No violations were reported by traffic or marine police.
