A superyacht, Sailing Yacht A, owned by Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko, is current anchored off Pernera beach, Protaras in Cyprus .
Melnichenko, 49, is the main beneficiary of fertiliser producer EuroChem Group and coal energy company Suek and is said to be worth at $19.8 billion making him the 95th richest man in the world and the 7th richest in Russia, according to Forbes.
Sailing Yacht A, which was designed by Phillipe Starck and sails under the flag of Bermuda, was delivered in 2017, and according to yacht watchers it is the largest and most controversial of all of Starck’s yachts with its futuristic design. It is said to have cost $600m.
It is also the second yacht created for Melnichenk by the same designer.
Sailing Yacht A has eight decks with an underwater observation deck inside the bow. The 142m yacht has three distinct masts taller than the Statue of Liberty, according to some reports.
