A second suspect, 37, was arrested late on Tuesday in relation to the discovery of two kilos of cannabis in Larnaca.

He was arrested around 9pm following evidence linking him to the illegal drug case.

Police said that nothing suspicious was found after a search in his car and house.

A 36-year-old man was also arrested earlier that day for the same case.

According to police, the man, who had been under surveillance, was driving a car in the Dromolaxia area.

At some stage, officers chased the vehicle and managed to intercept it after it crashed into the patrol car.

The driver was arrested, while four grammes of cannabis and a grinder were found in his possession.

Police also seized eight plastic bags with two kilos and 69 grammes of cannabis following a search in his car.

Two officers were slightly injured in the collision and were taken to Larnaca general hospital A&E. They were treated and subsequently discharged but remain on sick leave.

Both vehicles were damaged.
