Coronavirus: Nine premises, 23 people booked

Nine businesses and 23 individuals were booked by police during 2,729 checks in the past 24 hours for violating Covid decrees.

In Nicosia 1,125 inspections were carried out and one premises plus three individuals were fined.

Limassol saw 266 inspections with six businesses booked and four individuals.

In Larnaca there were 494 inspections and one business was fined, while in the Famagusta area there were 388 checks where police booked seven people.

Paphos had 135 checks with one booking for a business, along with six individuals.

In the Morphou area there were 203 checks and three people were booked.

In Nicosia, the largest fine of €1,500 was imposed on a restaurant because customers were dancing.

In Limassol most of the complaints concerned restaurants. A Paphos premises was booked because they did not check for a SafePass.
