The Logicom Cyprus Marathon will take place on Sunday in Paphos. For the seventh consecutive year, it will be dedicated to the memory of Stelios Kyriakides; the marathon runner who honored Cyprus and Greece with his historic win of the 50th Boston Marathon in 1946.

The Logicom Cyprus marathon is known for its high athletic standards and is set to be a great running celebration paired with many interesting attractions and events, taking place in one of the most beautiful and historical destination of Cyprus, the city of Paphos.

The marathon will feature four different Races: the full marathon (42,195 meters), the half marathon (21,098 meters), the 10kmrRun and the 5km family fun run. The full marathon start point will be at Petra tou Romiou, the place of birth of Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty and love according to Homer; the ancient Greek author and poet. The half marathon, 10km run and 5km family fun run will start at the Medieval Castle Square. The finish line for all the races will be at the Paphos medieval castle.

This year, the marathon team will proudly present a new medal design, featuring the figure of Aphrodite, and olive leaves on the ribbon that symbolise the Olympic Ideals of the ancient Greeks.

The main sponsor of the marathon is Logicom Public Ltd. The event is organised under the auspices of the deputy ministry of tourism and is supported by the municipality of Paphos, the Paphos tourism development and promotion company, DHL Cyprus, Scaffolding Solutions, Biofreeze, 361 and Ronhill.

Green Dot Cyprus will lend its support to the marathon, by collecting and recycling the hundreds of paper boxes and thousands of plastic bottles used during the event.

Last, but not least, Logicom will be once again joining forces with the team to support the Karaiskakio Foundation with various actions taking place before and during the event.

Registrations are still open on www.logicomcyprusmarathon.com until the quota allowed by the health protocol has been reached.

We look forward to welcoming 1.500 runners from across Europe and the neighbouring countries. See you in Paphos!
