The administration of the fourth dose, or booster shot, of the Covid vaccine for people aged over 80, and those who live and work in nursing homes and closed structures, regardless of age, will begin on Wednesday at walk-in clinics, the health ministry said on Tuesday.
The announcement added that, following the jab for people over 80 years of age, the health ministry will also take a decision regarding the fourth dose for people over 70, nursing home health professionals and the immunocompromised.
Third shots will be made available to people aged 12 and over, provided that a period of six months has elapsed since the second dose.
Only MRNA vaccines will be administered as third doses, the health ministry added.
For the fourth dose, only five months need to have passed since the last jab.
People are reminded to bring an ID card and proof of vaccination to the walk-in clinics.
The opening hours of the walk-in clinics are 8am to 3pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8am to 6pm on Wednesday and 8am to 1pm on Saturday.
