The commissioner for the citizen Panayiotis Sentonas said on Wednesday a second campaign to collect humanitarian aid is underway across the island.

Collected goods are expected to be shipped to Ukraine on April 5, trough the Union Civil Protection Mechanism, an initiative of the European Commission to constitute a framework for cooperation in disaster preparedness, prevention and response.

For the second campaign, just like the first one that ended on Monday, people will able to donate various items, such as food and clothes at over 40 points throughout the island.

The donations will then be collected by the national guard and transported to the Limassol port, from where they will be shipped to Ukraine.
