Contracts signed on works to protect Pervolia coastal front

The government and construction company C.Kasinos & Son Ltd on Thursday signed a €457,000 contract titled “emergency measures for the protection of the Pervolia Lighthouse  coastal front in Larnaca.”.

The Ministry of Transport said the project aimed at shielding a section of the coastal front from marine erosion by placing large stones along its periphery, covering a total length of about 435 metres, and the restoration and extension of an existing culvert.

The contract was signed on behalf of the government by the director of department of public works Antonis Koutsoullis and on behalf of the construction company, by its general manager, Costas Kasinos.

The project’s implementation is set to start on May 2022 and be completed within 12 months. Progress will be inspected by an engineer representing the marine projects unit of the department.
