Paphos police are investigating after an abandoned bus caught fire, they said on Wednesday morning.

According to director of Paphos CID Michalis Nicolaou, at 2am on Wednesday morning the bus burst into flames while it was parked in a cul-de-sac in the industrial estate of Yeroskipou.

He said at the moment the police do not know who is the owner of the bus, while officers who visited the scene said several parts of the bus area missing, such as the battery.

The scene will be revisited later in the morning while officers are trying to track down the owner so he can explain why the bus was parked where it was.
