Man arrested at airport with 3.6kg cocaine

The police drug squad on Thursday said they arrested a 34-year-old man at Larnaca airport after they found over 3.5kg of cocaine in his luggage.

The man arrived at the airport from abroad a few minutes before 10pm on Wednesday. He was arrested after three packages totalling 3.685kg of cocaine was found hidden in a package that contained cutlery in his suitcase.

The drug squad and the customs department confiscated the drugs as well as an amount of cash that was found in his possession.
