Two drug drivers stopped in Paphos

Two men were caught driving under the influence of drugs after 130 checks in Paphos for the prevention of serious and fatal accidents in the early morning hours on Friday.

The two drivers concerned a 19-year-old and a 21-year-old who were both found driving without car insurance while on drugs.

Another man, aged 29, was stopped on Thursday night but refused to provide a sample for a narcotest, police said. He was taken to the local police station.

During the checks, 11 drivers were also caught speeding, six were booked for driving without insurance, four without road tax and four for broken car lights and other traffic violations.
