Attempted murder suspect hands himself in

A 29-year-old man wanted for the attempted murder of another man, aged 44, has surrendered himself to the Limassol authorities, police said Thursday.

The suspect presented himself at the Limassol CID on Wednesday afternoon after police published his photo and details on May 7 in an effort to locate him.

The man was arrested and remanded in custody.

He was wanted in relation to the attack of a 44-year-old man in a street in Limassol on May 6. According to evidence under investigation, the suspect allegedly hit the man on the head with a rock and then punched and kicked him on the head.

The victim suffered serious head injuries. He was transferred to Nicosia general hospital where he continues to be hospitalised in stable condition.
