Scheduled roadworks on motorways to affect traffic in the next days

roadworks

Several road works on the island’s motorway system are set to be carried out throughout the next days, the Public Works department said on Wednesday.

On Saturday, a 500-metres-long section of the Nicosia-Limassol motorway between Skarinou and Moutagiaka will be partially closed to motorists between 6am and 4pm due to grass cutting and litter collection on the central island. Traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lanes.

Moreover, a one-kilometre-long section of the Limassol-Paphos motorway running from Erimi to Petra tou Romiou will be partially shut from 9am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Finally, part of the old Nicosia-Limassol motorway running from the roundabout of Kalavasos to the Mari exit will be closed to motorists from June 27 to July 1 every day from 8am to 3pm, due to the scheduled upgrades on the asphalt.

One of the two lanes will be shut during the works and motorists will alternate circulation on a single lane, the Public Works department said.
