Batch of frozen chicken burgers found to contain salmonella

A batch of frozen chicken burgers was withdrawn from the market after they were found to contain salmonella bacteria, the health services announced on Monday.

The product is sold by local brand Alfa Theodosiou with the packaging reading “Chicken burgers, no preservatives, 100 per cent pure ingredients”.

During laboratory tests by the health services, the salmonella bacteria was traced in the product which carries the 5290951000029 barcode and a best before date of March 1, 2023.

The chicken burgers are produced by A. Theodosiou frozen foods ltd in an airtight container covered with transparent plastic.

The health services have already informed the company that distributes the products to immediately recall them from the market.

Consumers who purchased the specific items were advised to avoid consuming them and return them to the store.
