Man held in connection with Pera Chorio thefts

A 31-year-old man appeared before the district court of Nicosia on Monday, where he was issued a warrant for eight-day detention to facilitate investigation into a case of theft.

According to police statement the suspect is allegedly involved in 16 cases of theft from various warehouses and buildings under construction, in the area of Pera Chorio.

The thefts were committed between April and June this year and, among other things, fuel, vehicle batteries, catalysts and scaffolding were stolen.

The Pera Chorio police are continuing the investigation.
