Open House festival brings dance to Limassol

Just before September ends, a dance festival will kick off the new month’s agenda with a dance shows and performances. The Open House Festival of Dance and Performance, organised by Dance House Lemesos, will make its comeback on September 30, continuing with its 13th edition until October 2. Besides celebrating the 2022 festival, this year’s event has one more cause to celebrate –15 years since the establishment of the organisation.

The festival honours the live performance experience, focusing on the body and everything it brings: its shifts, its baggage, its meanings and reflections. The 2022 programme consists of performances and presentations from the local and international scene, which will take place in various venues in the city centre of Limassol.

Events will kick off on September 30 at the old Vinegar Factory with the performance Cold Hawaii at 7pm. The festival’s opening party will then take place at Dance House Lemesos at 8pm. On October 1 three presentations of works in progress under the titled Performing the New will take place at the Limassol Municipal Arts Centre – Papadakis Warehouses between 5pm and 7pm. Belinda Papavasileiou’s Τhis is Very Specific will be hosted at the old Vinegar Factory at 7pm while Simon Senn’s Be Arielle F will be presented at Rialto Theatre at 8.30pm.

The final day of the festival will open with the two-hour performance Anxiety / It’s Nice To Be Supported. It’s Exquisite When You’re Freefalling at the Municipal Arts Center-Papadakis Warehouses 5pm and later on the piece Body Parts will be shown at Syngergio at 7pm. Finally, Deep Fake will be hosted at Versus Theatre at 8.30pm wrapping another edition of the Open House Festival of Dance and Performance.
