Nicosia hosts speed dating event

Online, offline, meeting people seems to be a challenge these days. In between swiping left and right, ghosting and getting stuck in ‘situationships’, having good dating experiences is somewhat scarce. And if apps don’t do the trick, meeting a potential love interest in real life is even more difficult for young people nowadays. Throw in a pandemic in the mix and chances are slim.

Hope is not lost though! Wanting to bring people together again and attempt an old-school dating method, the Yasemin Collective is organising a Speed Dating event at the Entos Technwn venue in Nicosia. This Friday, singletons are invited to gather at the old Nicosia space to chat, mingle and meet other souls looking for connections.

The event will begin at 8.30pm where pairs will be seated opposite each other and in a short amount of time, will have the chance to talk before moving on to the next person. People from all backgrounds, ages and walks of life are invited to join and one drink is included in the €10 ticket. Where these meetings will lead is unknown yet as Yasemin says it is up to each one to make any new connections they wish. And that is the charm of the event.
