The age limit for the administration of the booster, or 4th dose of the Covid vaccine is being reduced from Monday, the health ministry announced.

The ministry said that from Monday the booster or 4th dose of the injection, will be available to people aged 30 and over, to people regardless of of age living or working in nursing homes and closed structures, to health professionals regardless of age, to pregnant women regardless of age, and to people over 12 years with diabetes mellitus, severe obesity and with metabolic syndrome.

It will also be administered to people with chronic ailments such as severe heart and vascular disease, kidney disease, liver disease and neurological diseases. A period of five months must have passed since the third dose. Receiving the booster or 4th dose is optional, the ministry said.

Immunodeficient and immunosuppressed patients can visit the walk-in vaccination centres and present a medical certificate from a personal or specialist physician.

The ministry also said the booster or 3rd dose of the Covid jab will be administered to persons 12 years of age and older, provided that the period of five months has passed since receiving the 2nd dose. This is also optional.

Limassol: Linopetra Health Centre (8am – 2:30pm)
Paphos: Paphos General Hospital (8am – 2:30pm)
Famagusta: Famagusta Health Centre (8am – 2:30pm)
Kyperounda: Kyperounda Vaccination Center (former SPE) Monday, Wednesday and Friday (09:30am – 01:30pm)
Polis Chrysochous: Polis Chrysochous Hospital, every Tuesday (09:30am – 0130pm)
