Hellenic-backed Nicosia Book Fest to focus on Portuguese lit

A successful presentation on the upcoming Nicosia Book Fest 2022 took place at Hellenic Bank’s headquarters on October 5. Hellenic supports the event as cultural sponsor.

Over the past seven years, the Book Fest has become something of an institution. Held in the capital in autumn, it serves as a cultural bellwether for the year ahead. And given that culture, children and their future are at the core of Hellenic’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, the Bank proudly plays its part in the literary initiative.

This year, the festival’s itinerary features a wide range of activities and innovations, as well as hundreds of authors, and people of the arts and letters. Also taking part are dozens of organisations related to books, the love of reading and literacy.

“This year’s festival is dedicated to Portuguese literature,” said Nicosia Book Fest organising committee chief Chrysostomos Pashiardis, in his remarks. “The launch of the festival, and many other activities taking place, come under this rubric. The event is being organised in partnership with the Portuguese embassy in Cyprus, to whom we are particularly thankful.”
