A man who was wanted by police since June for allegedly firing shots that damaged a car in Aradippou four months previously was picked up the early hours of Sunday.

The suspect was apprehended during a routine traffic stop in Kiti, police said.

Just after midnight, Kiti police who were conducting traffic controls, stopped a 34-year-old driver who they established had a outstanding warrant against him.

On the night of February 9, shots were fired, damaging the two front windows of a car parked on a street outside the owner’s residence in Aradippou.

A sum of money and two pairs of sunglasses plus a pair of prescription glasses were stolen from the car.
Investigations led to the identity of the suspect and an arrest warrant was issued in June.
