Nursing homes are a disgrace

I refer to an article published regarding nursing homes in Cyprus (Legislative failings leading to abuse in nursing homes, Sunday Mail October 9), and the “questionable” matter of compassionate and responsible “care” to patients that remains under scrutiny.

For several years I, with others, have been campaigning/appealing about this serious situation through the relevant Cypriot authorities to highlight the reality that exploits the vulnerable and often elderly person unacceptably.

I hope no one in your family or friends’ circle, or anyone, encounters this despicable service, especially at a time when compassion and care should be foremost.
