The Avakas gorge nature trail was closed on Wednesday afternoon due to heavy rain, the agriculture department has announced.

The path will remain closed until the department of forests of the agriculture ministry issued a new announcement.

Avakas gorge is located 16km west of Paphos at the beginning of Akamas peninsula. It is 3km long and considered a difficult hike.
