Man, 61, found dead outside Latsia apartment (Updated)

Three persons were remanded in custody on Thursday in connection with the death of a 61-year-old man, found dead outside an apartment building in Latsia on Wednesday evening.

The deceased has since been identified as Dorotheos Demetriades.

A post-mortem on Thursday determined he had died as a result of haemorrhagic shock due to  injuries on the abdomen and internal injuries to other organs.

Police said the man was involved in a fight.. He was found dead at 8:30pm.

Reports said he was still alive when police arrived on the scene, but expired just before the ambulance got there.

His last words to police officers were reportedly: “They beat me.”

According to media reports, Demetriades was assaulted by a number of persons, after an earlier argument between one of his friends living at the building and other tenants.

Police are seeking four more persons captured on CCTV.
