Police on Tuesday arrested two persons aged 26 and 27 for possession of illegal drugs and weapons.

According to the police statement, traffic officers stopped a car on Chlorakas Avenue, shortly after midnight.

During the ensuing search, a 9.5 cm double-edged knife and a golf club were found inside the car, which the 26-year-old driver allegedly admitted were his.

Members of the drug squad were called to the scene, and found the 27-year-old passenger in possession of a quantity of cannabis weighing approximately three grams, as well as five pills, suspected to be ecstasy.
