It is critically important to make hospitals autonomous as soon as possible, for it is one of Gesy’s pillars of success, presidential candidate Nikos Christodoulides said on Tuesday.

Visiting Makarios hospital in Nicosia, Christodoulides was briefed on the strengths and challenges the hospital faces, as well as its potential to expand and improve its facilities and technologies, through the recovery and resiliency program.

The presidential hopeful said he was an ardent supporter of Gesy from the onset and will work toward improving the quality of its services.

Christodoulides also visited Nicosia general hospital where he discussed the challenges it faces and its possibilities for the future.

He pledged to strengthen and boost Gesy during the meeting with a number of doctors, the hospital chiefs and management from the state health services (Okypy).
