Fatal road accident in Nicosia, police asking for information

fatal crash tuesday

Police have appealed for information following a fatal road accident that occurred shortly after midnight on Tuesday morning in Nicosia, resulting in the death of Kyriakos Oxynos, 24, from Engomi.

The collision happened ten minutes past midnight when, under circumstances being investigated, the car driven by the 24-year-old deviated from its course on Griva Digeni Avenue, in the Kykkos Metochi area, hit the divider, and crashed into a tree.

The driver was transferred by ambulance to Nicosia general hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly before 3am.

Police are asking for anyone who knows anything about the collision to contact the Nicosia traffic police on 22 802023 or the Citizen’s Line at 1460 or report to the nearest police station.
