Free wine event in old Nicosia

Yes, that is right, an event later today will serve plenty of wine. Lions Club Nicosia Within the Walls, Nicosia Municipality and OinoArt are organising the Nicosia Supports Cypriot Wine event.

On the lower ground level of Eleftheria Square from 6pm to 10pm, over 20 local wineries will set up tasting tables serving their very best wines. Vintage whites and rosé wines, red labels and more will fill the space, ready to offer a tasteful experience to oenophiles. Entrance to the event is free and those who wish to visit the winery tables and taste products can purchase a wine glass ticket for just €5 and explore dozens of wine varieties. The proceeds from the event will be donated to charity, just like all of the Lions Club Nicosia Within the Walls actions.

Besides wine tasting, the evening will offer a chance for visitors to mingle and make connections while learning all about wine production, local varieties and Cypriot wineries that exist and what goes into producing a fine bottle of wine, from keeping the right temperature to what glass to serve it in.
