President Nikos Christodoulides will hold a press conference on Tuesday on the first 100 days of his administration, following underwhelming comments about his term so far by experts and the public.

It comes after a recent poll commissioned by daily Politis, where 55 per cent of responders gave the new administration a negative rating while 19 per cent rated it neither negatively nor positively. Some 26 per cent gave the new administration a positive rating.

The results of the study showed that women were a little more divided on Christodoulides, with 32 per cent giving him positive feedback and 47 per cent saying they evaluated his government negatively.

Men, on the other hand, responded with an almost two thirds (63 per cent) negative evaluation of Christodoulides.

Meanwhile, a former diplomat quoted in the Sunday Mail rated the president three out of ten earlier this month. The source added that the president “is a victim of the high bar he set for himself”.
