This summer, the Commandaria Orchestra & Friends Concert Series has great moments in store for music lovers. One of them is this coming Sunday as a concert dedicated to Argentine Tango is about to take place. The concert at the Cyprus Wine Museum is part of the summer world tour of the enchanting violinist Machiko Ozawa who will be accompanied by the distinguished pianist Rami Sarieddine.

On this tour, the Japanese violinist who fell in love with Argentinian music presents her solo album entitled Mi Oblivion, released in 2018 with great success by Composers Concordance Records. Ozawa is a Yamaha performing artist. She studied at the Juilliard School, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Tokyo National University of the Arts. She has been the principal of the Orquesta Sinfonica Sinaloa de las Artes and has appeared in major concert halls such as the Carnegie Weill Recital Hall and as a soloist with many orchestras such as the Pan American Symphony Orchestra, the American Philharmonic Orchestra, and others.

Joining her on stage is the Cyprus-born Rami who studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London, the New England Conservatory in Boston, and the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles. He enjoys an important international career as a performer and pedagogue and has recently return to the island to create and contribute to the local musical culture.

The two excellent artists met for the first time back in 2015 in New York and since then they have been linked by both their friendship and their great professional collaboration.
