Police on Tuesday arrested a 28-year-old man after stolen items were found at his residence.

According to police statement, the 28-year-old suspect was already in custody when a search carried out at his residence turned up items identified as stolen by a complainant.

Police subsequently re-arrested the man for burglary and theft.

According to police spokesman Michalis Nikolaou, during the search, carried out in a village in the district of Paphos, various electrical tools were found for which the suspect could not give adequate explanation.

Later, another person reported that between June 24 and 25 someone had damaged their car door and allegedly removed electrical tools from the vehicle.

The complainant recognised some of the items found at the suspect’s residence as his own.

The 28-year-old was re-arrested for theft, in addition to being held for previous cases.
