After sold-out shows in Greece and Cyprus, the 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche play is back. Before the production embarks on its second tour in Athens, it presents three last shows in Cyprus, with a festive twist.

Wherehaus 612 in Nicosia will host the five actors again on December 18, 22 and 23 as they present once more this tale of womanhood. The play is originally by Andrew Hobgood and Evan Linder and was presented for the first time in Greek in December 2021. Thirty three sold-out shows followed in Nicosia, Limassol and Athens, directed by Evita Ioannou and now it is making a comeback. Parts of this December’s proceeds will go towards the Athens tour that will happen soon.

The play takes place in 1956 at the annual convention of the Susan B. Anthony Society of the Sisterhood of Gertrude Stein. Five women gather in the basement of a church to hold a quiche contest. These women love quiche. They love quiche more than any other person in the history of the world who has ever loved quiche. ‘No men, no meat, only good behaviour,’ is their motto. But when a nuclear explosion brings destruction to the outside world, the long-awaited competition is interrupted, and the heroines are forced to confront their secrets and sexual identities.
