Two men sentenced to prison for migrant smuggling

Two men, aged 24 and 25, have been sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison at Famagusta District Court for smuggling migrants to Cyprus.

According to a police bulletin on Friday, the two were found guilty of offenses related to a vessel discovered off the coast of Cape Greco on September 7, which contained 28 migrants.

The two were convicted of aiding irregular migrants in entering the Republic of Cyprus.
