Man remanded for possession of 7.5kg cannabis (Updated)

A 40-year-old man was remanded in custody for seven days on Friday after having been arrested for possession of 7.5 kilograms of cannabis the previous night.

The man had been arrested on Thursday night after having been pulled over in the Famagusta district for a routine traffic stop, when police discovered a “small amount” of cannabis in his car.

A subsequent police search of his home found 12 packages containing a total of 7.5 kilograms inside.

The police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
