At a well-attended ceremony held recently, the Vasilitzia Cultural Club celebrated siblings Maria Kertepene-Lazarou and Zacharias Kertepene for their 40 years of selfless contribution – both to the Club and to Cyprus’ broader arts landscape.
Speakers of the evening were Larnaca Mayor Andreas Vyras, Club President Loukia Lazarou and the Club’s former choir-master Michael Panayiotou. The siblings were honoured by both the Vasilitzia Cultural Club and Mayor Vyras, under whose auspices the event was held.
Thereafter, an artistic programme followed, presented by the Club’s members, featuring a selection of the honorees’ well-loved songs and dances, celebrating their effort to spread and preserve Cypriot tradition and culture.
