Police said on Friday that a building shot at in Limassol was an advertising agency, and not a Forex company as had initially been reported by authorities.

The building was shot at six times by assailants around midnight on Thursday and had sustained damages to the front entrance and windows.

According to police, it was later determined on Friday that it was an advertising agency owned by a 32-year-old, and not a Forex company as they had initially reported.

Police told the Cyprus Mail that the 32-year-old, a foreign national, gave a statement to the authorities on Friday, after the incident.

The owner of the company told police that he did not have issues with anyone and doesn’t know the motives of the assailants.

According to police, who had arrived at the scene after the shots were fired, a security guard at the building said two assailants on a black motorbike without licence plates, pulled up to the building wearing helmets.

One of the men got off the bike and shot at the building six times, and then fled with on the bike with the driver.

The company is reported to be an advertising agency that deals with digital advertising and web design.
