Another person was rescued on Saturday by the Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) after getting into distress after jumping into the sea at the Sea Caves in Cape Greco.
At around 3.20pm, the JRCC received information regarding a person in distress under adverse weather conditions.
The JRCC immediately mobilised a speedboat of the Port & Maritime Police, a jet ski of the Famagusta District Administration and an ambulance.
The 27-year-old injured man was rescued by the Famagusta lifeguards, then taken by the police speedboat to Ayia Napa Marina from where he was taken by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital.
The JRCC once again reminded the public that diving from the sea caves at Cape Greco is strictly prohibited.
