A total of five people were injured in a road traffic collision which took place on the road between Limassol and Platres on Saturday night.
The crash took place at around 11.40pm, when a car being driven by a 24-year-old man which had three passengers inside, all males aged 20, 18, and 15 years old respectively, collided with another, driven by a 22-year-old man.
The 24-year-old had to be extricated from the wreckage of his vehicle after the accident.
All five involved were taken to the Limassol general hospital, where it was determined that the 24-year-old had suffered torn tissue in one of his his lungs and other injuries to his body. His condition has been described as serious, but he is said to be “out of danger”.
His 20-year-old passenger suffered a “serious” head injury but is also said to be “out of danger”.
The remaining three people involved in the incident received first aid treatment and were subsequently released from hospital.
