A 27-year-old man was remanded in custody for two days on Sunday after having been arrested for presenting a fake Greek passport at Paphos airport in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Paphos police’s assistant operations director Michalis Nikolaou said the man had arrived at the airport on an international flight before making his way to passport control at around 12.20am.

Police checks on the passport found that even though it contained a photograph of the man, it was fake.

The man reportedly confessed that the passport was fake.

The police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
