A 26-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday after having unsuccessfully attempted to burgle a house in Limassol.
The house’s 37-year-old owner said he had heard his doorbell ring twice but did not respond.
Then, he said, he realised someone was trying to break into his house, and thus opened his front door, only to see the man walking away.
The man’s neighbours then called the police, who arrested the would-be burglar, finding a small safe, five keys, a multi-tool, and a gram of methamphetamine in his possession.
He was arrested and remains in custody, with the police’s investigation into the matter ongoing.
