The labour ministry has dismissed press reports that the EU has launched procedures against Cyprus for not meeting the minimum percentage of the workforce covered by collective agreements.
A labour ministry spokesperson told the Cyprus News Agency that a report in Haravgi did not correspond in any way to reality.
According to the newspaper, the deadline set by the European Commission for the harmonisation of member states with the directive for 80 per cent of the workforce to be covered by collective agreements was expiring on November 15 and that Cyprus had not yet drafted a bill.
